The character and effectiveness of any church is directly related to the quality of its leadership. That’s why Scripture stresses the importance of godly overseers and delineates specific standards for evaluating those who would serve in that position. At SGBC our leadership comprises of Elders and Deacons, men who have been tested and proven faithful, and we thank the Lord for the qualified, able men who provide pastoral and administrative oversight to our church family.

Our Elders

Tony Okoroh

has served as an Elder in Sovereign Grace Bible Church for 20 years. He holds a degree from Mount Zion Bible Institute in Pensacola, Florida. With 44 years of marriage, Tony and Ori have raised two sons and are blessed with three grandchildren. His unwavering dedication and compassionate teachings inspire spiritual growth and unity in the congregation.

Osagie Azeta

is married to Oluwafunmilayo and the Lord has blessed them with three boys. He studied theology at Christ Pastor’s Seminary, London Reformed Baptist Seminary and currently studying his M.Div at Reformed Baptist Seminary, USA. He is involved in church planting effort in Lagos and children's ministry where he a been teaching for over 13years. His desire is to grow to know Christ and see biblical churches planted across Nigeria.

Osinachi Nwoko

He is a graduate of London Reformed Baptist Seminary and was ordained pastor at Sovereign Grace Bible Church in June 2019. Prior to that, He served as a deacon for 4 years. He is currently pursuing his M.Div at Reformed Baptist Seminary, USA. He is married to Nenye with whom he has two children.

Our Deacons

Frederick Oka

In 2005, he became a member of Sovereign Grace Bible Church and later in 2015, he was ordained as a deacon. Presently, he fulfills the role of Church Administrator. He is married to Chidinma and they are blessed with two children named Peter and Kaima. He is pursuing studies at Grace Theological Seminary and actively participates in the Blessed Children Ministry (BCM), an outreach of Sovereign Grace Bible Church that provides educational and spiritual guidance to children in the local community.

Joel Uzamere

is married to Mrs. Busola Uzamere and has been blessed by God with three children, Jasmine, Jason and Jethro. Joel currently serves as a Deacon, the Missions Coordinator and Seminary Rector at Sovereign Grace Bible Church in Lagos, Nigeria.

Peter Uka

Peter became born again sometime in 1998 having read through the Bible and being convicted by the Gospel. He has several years of work experience in the IT Business Management sector. He is married to Chinasa and has three children; Nathaniel, Noelle and Nicholas. Peter serves a Sunday School teacher and also enjoys reading and writing Christian-themed articles whenever he has the opportunity.

'Sola Akinware

is married to 'Jumoke and has been blessed with two children. He serves as the deacon in charge of the External Affairs Ministry of the Church and also coordinates and teaches in the Blessed Children Ministry, a Sunday school and outreach ministry focused on children. His vocational expertise lies in project management.
